Scales of Narrativity

Narrative theory can help the development of new analytical models and creative design methods. The «narrative», a term that in narrative theory, describes the degree of «storyness» of a text, can be applied equally to the architectural design, exhibition practice and graphic design. The term «narrative» suggests that there are different levels or scales of narrative. In other words, some creations are more narrative than others. If so, the question that arises is at what point and based to which information is any creation a fully developed narrative event? To answer these questions, we try to develop a narrative scale model as a design methodology within six critical narrative dimensions: the intent, the content, the form, the storytelling, the experience and the context.
