A Passage / the exhibition

An Exhibition of Photographs of Niki Gleoudi

Seeking a relationship as hidden and empathic as the one between an immigrant and their previous homeland or perhaps the only homeland that led them to a new land, as well as the relationship immigrants may have with an object that represents this very bond is what we have striven to achieve via the extensive interviews that Niki did in Miami. Photographs of these individuals, of their objects or images of them together with the object that each time seems to sum up their own memory as the only object they would be taking with them if they had to leave America… like all of the  recorded interviews and their transcriptions is the great job that Niki has done. An exhibition of such images, photographs  of individuals and photographs of objects, as featured at the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art, Thessaloniki, may enable us to recreate and communicate a small part of this project.
